Hi, I’m Robyn!
My personal philosophy as a ceramicist in Grand Rapids, Michigan is centered around capturing the essence of the natural world in my art, while encouraging others to explore their relationship with the earth. I believe in pushing the boundaries of ceramics to create work that reflects my true self and approaches life with a sense of playfulness and exploration.
I focus mainly on hand-building techniques, using Mishima to sketch drawings onto my pieces, then paint glazes on like watercolors. Working with clay is a meditative practice that brings me a sense of emotional peace and physical healing, and I seek to imbue each piece with the spirit of the earth.
Overall, my aim is to celebrate the beauty and magic of the world around us and to encourage others to rediscover their own connection to nature.
Through my art, I hope to inspire a sense of playfulness and creativity, reminding us to approach life with a sense of wonder and joy.
